HOW DO YOU MEASURE UP TO OTHER READERS?

Where you fall in poll of U.S. reading habits – from cnn.com August 21, 2007

“One in four adults say they read no books at all in the past year, according to an Associated Press-Ipsos poll released Tuesday. Of those who did read, women and seniors were most avid, and religious works and popular fiction were the top choices.

The survey reveals a nation whose book readers, on the whole, can hardly be called ravenous”

I read about one book per week, I like to go slowly when I read for pleasure. In fact I even went that slow with Harry Potter. I also read several magazines. I just wish I had more time to read!!! My parents read to me as a child and I really think that helps and they took me to the library to get books. My daughter was read to. She has a Mom and Dad that read. And she is constantly reading...very different books from history to fantasy to science.

Since you are reading a blog, I’m guessing you might be an above-average reader. What is your best idea for encouraging more people to read? For attracting new readers to the library? For encouraging people to read more?
Share your comments, and maybe your idea will start a reading revolution!!

You lucky person. I am always frustrated in that I have so many books I still want to read.
